Zuzu’s new album reflects an evolution in terms of the subject matter she addresses in her music and so with the video for the lead track ‘Skin and Bone’, Virgin EMI wanted a video that highlighted this progression.
With the track’s subject matter of domestic abuse, our concept was to create a video that reflected the sense of imprisonment that this creates but also the belief that you can change the person inflicting the abuse, even if that’s not the reality.
This single is a bit heavier topically than anything I've done before. I hope this can connect with people who've had similar experiences with abusive relationships. I started this song when I was really young and it's taken a lot of time to pluck up the courage to finish and release it but the time has finally come!
