Near Odessa in association with XTR and iTVS and Director Mirissa Neff commissoned Capture to create Motion Design elements for their new Documetary Feature film This Is National Wake about a mixed race punk band in apartheid era South Africa in the 1980s.

Capture created a full opening title sequence encorporating Archive video and still photography with our own edit into a period specific textural envionement that mirrored the lost footage grain heavy world of the documentary material all cut to the band’s most famous track ‘International news’. In addition Capture created many minutes of in film content graphics to animate old 35mm photography contact sheets and old Newspapers, flyers and Magazine articles to illustrates the unique story. The Logo we designed for the title sequence was subsuiquently used on the film’s poster and marketing materials (above)

Finally Capture created a Trailer for the film utilising the look and feel established with the Motion Design and providing editing services too.

The film received it’s World Premiere at the prestigious Sheffield Doc Fest in 2022
