This is the second time that Simon has collaborated with Capture - we produced the opening and closing title sequences for his debut short film, Ernestine and Kit. Ernestine and Kit was nominated for the 2016 SXSW Grand Jury Award for Best Narrative Short - by coincidence, it was screened alongside Capture’s The Man from Mo’Wax at the festival that year.
This month Capture has had the pleasure of hosting Inbetweeners star Simon Bird and editor Ash White as they work on Simon’s directorial debut, Days of the Bagnold Summer. The script was adapted from Joff Winterhart’s graphic novel by Lisa Owens. It is a funny and touching story of a 15 year-old metal-head trying to connect with his mouse-y librarian mum, and all the brilliantly excruciating awkwardness therein.
Producer Matthew James Wilkinson of Stigma Films brought Simon’s short to Capture after enjoying our work on the opening and closing titles of his 2012 short Worm. Days of the Bagnold Summer will be released sometime next year.
